What does it mean to accept Christ?
Accepting Christ, according to John 3:16, means believing in Jesus as the Son of God who gave His life for our salvation. It is a personal decision to trust in Him for eternal life and to follow Him as Lord and Savior.
To accept Christ, one must:
-
Acknowledge that we are sinners in need of God’s grace (Romans 3:23).
-
Believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, offering us salvation (Romans 10:9).
-
Confess our faith in Jesus, declaring Him as Lord and committing to follow Him (Romans 10:10).
A simple prayer of confession:
"Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God who died for my sins and rose again. I repent of my sins and ask You to come into my heart. I confess You as my Lord and Savior. Help me to follow You and live for You. Amen."
Accepting Christ is the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith, love, and transformation in Him.
